Doubler options with figure 8 205

Ordered mine today!

I pulled the trigger today guys! Called Jacob after emailing back and forth with my pile of questions for the last week or so.

He explained all the issues he's gone through trying to get his product to market and actually be able to keep up with the demands. If I remember correctly, he said he had that batch of about 40 boxes being made now and like 30 are already spoken for!

Though I've read lots of trash on Pirate and a few other places about his previous boxes, it seems like he's gotten over that hump. Truth is that many of those posts Jacob never really fully addressed to the lengths that some of those people were trashing him. He also assured me anybody that really had a legitimate issue with his sale to them have been refunded money. And rarely do those people go back in and state that fact. He's a really good guy from what I can tell, I'm willing to give him a shot for what looks to be a really great product. Heck, his current pricing is killer IMO.

I'm going to be running my SM465 into 32 spline np241 planetary gearset in the box mated to the np205. No resplined shafts or anything complicated, just going to deal with the added length since I am getting new driveshafts from Jess at HAD when this is done. Also ordered the universal, clockable rear mount that takes the place of rear bearing cover for the 205. Also bought a bolt on shifter for the box too.

At this point, he says it will be approx. 6 to 8 weeks before I'd get my stuff. Fine by me since I have plenty of work left on my axle swap and some other details to iron out. Will post update when time comes!

Please keep us updated! Are you running it into a 32 spline 205? Im running mine into a 31 spline as I picked up a ford 205 for 75 bucks and have the 27 spline laying around. I'm Assuming that a spud shaft goes in to make it 32 to 31 spline as he says that's an option. In your case I don't know if one of those would be used or not. I'm sure your excited!

Yep. I have a short stub 32 spline 205. Unfortunately its a figure 8 pattern, but that's OK by me since I am going to fab a new rear crossmember with that slick np205 universal rear mount kit. (He said he simply can't make enough of these - they are his BIG seller).

I'm not entirely sure what you'd need for your setup, but it sounds like you're in good shape since his website even suggests using that Ford 31 spline input you have. I'm certain he's got whatever you'll need to run your parts.

He really tries to ask the right questions to get an understanding of what ppl need to the best of his ability. You wouldn't believe how many people expect that this is just a %100 bolt in application and it just magically goes in by itself. I was very surprised when he mentioned that the majority of people want to have the box built and assembled fully by him! He said he just doesn't have the time to keep doing that and thinks he will have to raise prices on that piece. I'm thinkin that ppl. requesting the non-DIY kit are clearly not CK5'rs!

BTW - thanks for putting your post in and Martin you too for linking to more info. I was juuust about to pick up a 231 & do that doubler but I'm really excited now for this new route. This probably would have missed my radar unless I'd seen your post!
