Does anyone make a doubler to work with the 1980 slip yoke 205..?

All that matters is that it's a 32 spline input

the 205 is an 80 (465/205 combo), i have no idea on the spline count tho.....anyone know what the slip yoke 205 count is....?........someone has to know...?????????

That'd be a 10 spline input. You can have the case bored and install the larger diameter input bearing with a 32 spline input gear and you'd be good to go...

ya the slip yoke rear has nothing to do with the doubler needs. only need short input 32 spline on the 205 and have your small bearing case bored to the bigger bearing size and install the input and bigger bearing and then bolt up to doubler kit . and you will need a rare 465/203 setup for the front half. unless you swap to auto or later round 6 adaptor 465 that will have 32 spline output . then you will need a 32 spline 203 range box from a 400 trany.

or just read all this good info here. http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/doubler.htm

then read this for pics and info needed for the build up. not what you run exactly but good info. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=253000

that sux.....ill have to keep an eye out for the t-cases i need....id like to do it but that might be alot or searching...

realy think about it as the length and lift you have might make the rear shaft a bit steep .

and the total price in the end will be a lot more than you think. i had most of my stuff and i am still in to it for around 2500 everything with h.a.d shafts.

yea now that im thinking what you said, the rear shaft would be way too steep, would it benefit just to twin stick it......?

i think so then search for parts and then build the doubler later on and mabye move the axle back 4" with 56" springs backwards. this will get ya more room for driv shaft.

i cant move the axle rearward any more than 2inches with out cutting the bed all up, im not into that at all....so thanks guys, maybe since i do have the 465 s 1st gear and the 205s low range i wont need the doubler.....ill have to think about this one...

I have a doubler already, and after having gone through the PITA factor, the real cost etc etc I would do it different if I were going to do it again. I'd order an Atlas, or a Stak and call it done. Better gearing, more variety, lighter, shorter and about the same money. About the same money if you compare it the way I do...the only used part in my 205 was the case, the only used part of the 203 was the case, new triple stick shifters, upgraded to 32 spline through and through, 1410 yokes. This I think compares to a completely new T-case like a Stak or an Atlas.

Don't get me wrong, the doubler is a cool set-up and is a proven thing, and I have every intention of keeping mine, running it and being quite happy with it. Just saying if you're looking for deeper gears the Atlas and the Stak deserve a good long look too.

I also didnt realize that it gets that expensive, i thought it would be cheaper than just buying a case. Im provin wrong, ill just stick with what i got and then when i get more cash togeather go from there.....thanks........ Maybe ill just twin stick it for now. I have the 465s low 1st gear and the 205s low range with 456 gears so that should be ok for now
