I just acquired a factory air AC unit, something I have wanted for years but never really got into. I also have a York installed now that is being used for OBA. So the question is... Id like to double up the York's... one for the AC and the other for the OBA. Any issues with running them off of the same V belt? The engine is a fresh 350 and I personally cant see any issues. The OBA is manually controlled via toggle switch so I can make sure only one is running at any give time. Would there be enough of a drag to make a difference if they both were on at the same time? Or only if they both started at the same time? Any insight would be appreciated.

No problem. Even if they were both running at the same time the only thing that would happen is you would be robbing some HP from your engine to run both at once. It's no different than if you had a rig with manual steering with OBA and then decided to add power steering, it's just another taxing HP accessory.

About the only problem I could see, and this would be remote, is if you tapped into the same fuse for both.
Turning on both clutches at the same time might blow that fuse. But thats about the worst that could happen.

I have a question, Would running this compressor motor be like running a York? just not in the motor compartment of course. I would have to mount and run it elsewhere on my truck cause it's kind of big. Is it too big you think for a rig setup???
