dove tailing a blazer

I tapered my truck bed all the way to the frame. Don't know exactly how many inches. This pic is with the skins just hanging on and obviously in an unfinnished state.

Not to try and hijack the thread or anything, but can this be done to a suburban??? hahaha, I think I know the answer "Anything can be done if you try"

I built a whole new bed out of tube and just have the quarter panels hanging on as skins. I used 3/4" expanded metal for the sides to hold stuff in yet be light. For the floor it is 1/16" treadplate that is bolted down to match the contour of the frame. I just mounted the cell to the new floor but cut a hole the floor to sink the sump of the cell down a few inches.

Boogerless how did you taper the front fenders? did you just cut them and weld them back together? I have been thinking of doing the front too but I would probabaly tube and skin it.

I think I ended up removing 22" from the front and something like 24" from the rear. No floor in the rear to worry about so that part was easy. I kinda rolled the fenders around rather than a sharp angle. The front was done as a one piece tilt front end. No hood hinges to worry about this way.

I've seen Dove tail, now Beaver Tail..............neither depict the actual shape, how bout tapered tail or tapered bed, or narrowed backhalf. as far as the front you could say tapered nose, tapered fender mod, narrowed front clip. Hmmm? what else can I think of? narrow ass tail or mod, skinny ass tail or mod, dart nose look, pointy nose look. How bout anorexic ass mod :haha: or K5 Ass Lipo suction mod :D. for the front, K5 Brest reduction Hi Performance Modification, or K5 tuck and taper sugery.

Oh, I know, how bout Tighten the K5 pooper mod.

Any other ideas guys? :haha:
