dovetailing is done...lots O pics

Daryl, how much did each bedside weigh? I made a thread about doing what you did but just running skins instead of the inner shell the skin is welded to.

The wheel well part of a Blazer body is very heavy, definitely the heaviest part I cut off of my truck. Well over 100 lbs. on each side (maybe even 150?), its probably the thickest sheetmetal on the truck.

I would imagine that pickup beds are lighter but I don't really know.

The skins don't weight very much.

Part of me cringes but part of me goes, "coooooooool!"

I guess we are gonna have trim tims fenders now that he knows that full stuff he hits. Wonder if he wants to get the saw saz after, hehheheheheheheheh.

You have to get the front inner wells out so we can start on the front end dude, its not done till its all done.

i'm guessing 90lbs each.Wes.the rears are heavier than the front.:haha:i never got the end result pic.

I am thinking that each side of Darryls weighs less than 50# because the inner fenders were already cut off and had no trouble lifting alone.

BUMMER about the camera. Gotti wants you to get another ASAP, he is loosing his spotlight without it

My front wheel wells have been making their own clearance the whole time, I am just glad the back never rubs:doah:

I would have to agree with you about 50 seems right, i think floor plates weigh as much.

mine is the blazer fenders.made to look like a bed.JR has been mistaken for a shortbed a few times.the rear of my fenders are way heasvier than the front part.k5 fenders are heavy.:haha:

my older brother was over tonight and he is gonna get me aluminum plates for the floor.:pimp::waytogo:

Aluminum is nice and light and it would be nice to have some floor anyway... sounds like a plan. Let me know when we can do something about the electrical and finish the bumper:hack::weld::grind:

i'm concerned about the flex when we(you) make the spare tire carrier.:laugh:i'm thinking tri pod with a hub welded to it to hold the tire.the sheet metal that was on there was strong enough to take it swaying back and forth.i'm not so sure about the aluminum.BUT,we will figure that out.:haha:and Kane gave me a saddletank to use for the gas. a cage maybe?thanks again for giving JR that sexy arse,Tim.:D

Looks good daryl :thumb: I'm looking into getting a bender here in a few months. I'm going to dovetail eventually see how many dents I can get first :)

None of this is a problem, and remember we are moving the bumper in also. I already have the plates to recover the end of the bumper tubes. we just need to get it over here because my welder is not portable and I like working inside (especially when it's raining:haha:)
