That is the same one I have. And because I put holes through stainless, I sharpen bits weekly. Works well.

Being a machinist by trade, I hand sharpen my drill bits.
Best is when someone breaks a bit and losses their mind and you say hold on. Sharpen it up and they look at you like your MacGyver.
This is something as a machinist apprentice that I'd appreciate learning how to do.

Who’s do you use?

How do you sharpen them?
I hand sharpen, but lately I've been buying the big sets from harbor freight and I just put aside any dull bits.
When I run out of a size I sharpen it.
I have at least 3 of each size, some even more.

Wait HF bits come full. Unless they've upped their game. Their step bits are crap iirc

Never use step bits.
But I get the big boxes of bits, they are cheap enough to be disposable but I can still sharpen them if I feel like it.
I used to get the titanium coated but the last time I got the cobalt and I love them, cut better and last longer.

Stainless kills bits. he step bits go away on any hole bigger than 1/2". I have tried running every speed possible.

Yeah cobalt bits are the sh#t. I have fractional and numbered from Kimball Midwest. $$$ but they hold and edge, and will shelf start on radius, and are mechanic length.

If they're small or cheap, they get tossed when they don't cut. If they're a larger/more expensive one it goes in the drill dr.

Mac tools 29pc drill bit set for work ($400), Irwin Cobalt ($92) for the house.

Mac will warranty the bits all the way down to 1/16 so if I break or dull any I swap out whatever doesn’t cut like I want it to on Tuesday when the tool truck comes, the Irwin set for the price is phenomenal and as they wear out I buy a bit here or there but I don’t do a lot of work at the house and haven’t had to replace them. If I know I’m doing heavy work at the house I’ll take the Mac set home so that I don’t have to buy another bit.

The China Freight Bauer bits are pretty decent for the price. Believe they are actually made in Taiwan when I grabbed them. Project Farm had an entertaining video on drill bits.

Find an appropriate size plastic sectioned box (HF), break out your label maker, label the size on the box and start sharpening. I use a Drill Doctor and it works pretty good. There are "professional" units available usually thru a machinist tool supply. A drill size rack is very helpful. Google is your friend!
