Drive up auto ramps....need some opinions

my son in law wants some for Christmas...I have a set of Rhino ramps that are rated up to 4000lb each, been very happy with them, they don't skid out when driving up on them, seem very sturdy even for heavier vehicles...only beef I got is the ramp gets in the way sometimes when trying to slid in under the doors.
The kids have a Traverse SUV and a Scion TC or something like that....what ideas ya got for around $50?

I have the same ones you listed. Wish they lifted higher but other than that they're quite useful

I have a set of those rhino ramps as well. You may need to stack some 2x6's in front of them for the Scion.

Ive got the same ones. my low bmws seem to do ok on them, but just barely.

A piece of 3/4 ply would do it to clear if it was close.

Mine were better before i lost the rubber anti slide parts.

I reach for these plastic ones way more often than I use an old metal set i have.

I used to have some steel homemade ramps w remove-able approaches but they were a real pain to move around
These plastic ones are great in that regard
Seem to be popular I'll look at getting him a set
We got plenty of 3/4 plywood squares laying around if needed

If you need ply to get up onto them, i'd make a strip 2 ft longer than the ramps, and mount the ramps to them. Then when teh weight of the car is on the ply the ramps can't slide out.

good idea....my concrete is a bit rough on the surface, so I don't get much slippage when I use them.
It sure is a pain when it happens though. I used to use a couple 2x4's between the ramp and against the bottom plate on the wall when I had some cheapie metal ones that liked to slide out

It sucks when they slide. Mine slide since i lost hte rubber block on the bottom.....but, all my cars are AWD now. Problem solved

I'd like to have the ramps the car dealerships near me use to display the new trucks...almost as good as having a lift !..

I have 3 pairs of ramps--one is the type you can remove the ramp part,which is nice,but they are not that sturdy really,and the rubber things on the bottom dissapeared ,so they'll slide when you go to drive up on them sometimes..

The other pair I have are heavy stamped one piece ones ,that I trust more,but the ramp does get in the way often..

The third pair are some home made ones someone gave me that look like they were made from angle iron,or old bed frames,with diamond plate for the ramp--heavy as hell,must weigh 75 lbs each,I can barely pick them up and carry them...they are crude,but I haven't had them fail on anything I have driven on them,but I have found and welded up a few cracks in the upright pieces ,which was a bit disturbing..
