Anyone put driving or fog lights in the openings of an 82 front bumper where the turn lights were supposed to go?

Well, I bought a bumper in pretty good shape. I cut it up to mount CUCV shackles. Now I'm looking for lights that are close to fitting. The opening is around 8x3.

Here's a pic for now. Everythings going to get some black powdercoat pretty soon.

I couldn't find any KCs that fit/filled the hole (so to speak). What did you find out.

There are various flavors of "driving" lights that are rectangular, ranging from the $15 Harbor Freight specials, to something inbetween you buy at the parts house, to the Hella 550's, for instance. Mounting them would require some creativity but I imagine it's possible.

Bump. Did you ever find some lights that fit? And it looks like the 82 bumper just bolted on to your 90/91? That's exactly what I am looking to do, so any details you could spare would be great!

Yes, I did. They're pretty nice lights that have a driving and a fog light. I've got to get going now, but I'll update with the lights. IIRC, they weren't more than $40.

Okay, here's the info on the lights. The name is "Fogcutter" part number 64581-5 fog and driving light combination by Grote. I'll see if I can't dig up a pic.

ive got a bumper from an 82 i parted just for this reason, id love to see your bracket and the light itself.:D

I second looking on ebay. There are soo many driving and fog lights on there its nuts.

Sure, but I always like "Fits" instead of "can be made to fit." I'm lazy, what can I say? :haha:

I mean bracket wise. Find one that fits the opening, then make some hokey bracket to hold the light. Come on, its a driving light, not a suspension part. You could make a mount out of beer cans if you needed to, haha. A little flat stock, and some pliers, and a drill, you'd be good.

How did you know I use beer cans to fix things? Sssshh! Don't give away my secret, the best part is emptying them first! :D

They work really good as funnels....as long as you drink a few first. Had to do that to get fluid into a hole about the size of this O.
