Dropping fuel tank for new fuel pump Yeah Right!

Shawn I use to own a 91 chevy z28 camaro conv. With a tpi 305 and 700r4. The camaro was really light due to in being conv. I did the same thing on my 91 cut a hole to access the fuel pump. Dealer wanted to charge my 800 bones because they said they would have to remove my axle. I wish I would of kept it now. I always had plans of restoring it. My cousin bought it and kept if for a year he sold it a few months ago. It had a short and needed some attention. I had the original engine in it and was pushing close to 240,000 miles not bad for a 305.

I cut the floor while trying to figure out if the pump was bad. Best thing i could do. Now if i have pump problems again just remove the piece and pull the pump 10min instead of 2hrs and a whole lot of yelling and throwing things! I want to put some hinges or sumthin but for now just covered it with the rubber flooring.
 
I don't know if convertibles are lighter , most convertibles typically had something added underneath to deal with the top being removed . Like extra frame braces on framed cars , and subframe connectors on subframe cars .

Well paul it sure felt like it was when I hit the gas. :eek1: Not bad for a 305. Maybe it was the gearing that made it feel like I was flying.
