hey all, I got that DRW D70HD im lookin to put in my rig, and I have the 6in springs for the lift. I was wondering, Ive got to move the spring perches to match the width of the blazer instead of the K30 it came out of. If im moving them anyway, and having them welded back on, would it make sense to have them welded on at a different angle in order to avoid using shims? or do i need to even worry about shims with just a 6in lift?

if at all possible ditch the cheep shims thay give you. then weld the perches as needed.

reusing old ?

or new ?

i would go new and longer than stock for more control over axle wrap .

dont have shims yet, dont even know what angle to put on the perches. Although i will most likely be getting new ones from kirk at DIY4x when the time comes.

any educated guesses on what angle to give the perches for use with a 6in lift? or is this a "install and check then have welded" kinda thing?

well.... the rub is that i dont have the driveshafts yet. I was gonna wait until the axles and lift and drivetrain were in place, then measure for the driveshafts, have them made, and install them. Tryin to do it all at once so i dont wind up having a lawn ornimant for the next few years.

SO, its lookin like i should just install the perches flat, and shim if needed, or as the case may be, as needed.

Sure thing, but dont hold your breath, as anyone here will tell you, ive been talking about all these mods for a LONG time.... since before i became a paying member, and the truck is still stock :doah:once i have all the parts, and the wrenches start spinning, ill do a build thread with pics and specs and all that jazz.

just massing up parts, and like i said, trying to do it all at once. having a laughable income is a huge drawback in trying to upgrade the toy.
