I've been having some smoking problems with my 6.2L lately and have narrowed it down to a sloppy timing chain (has about 120,000 miles on it). My timing needs to be advanced some more but I'm out of adjustment on the injection pump slots. So, I need to replace my chain. While I'm at it, I might as well bite the bullet and spring for the dual idler gear drive instead.
I know of several on the Diesel Page who have installed them and are very happy with the results. Anyone here who has installed them?
From what I can tell, the 6.2L/6.5L is one of the few diesels that actually used a timing chain...most diesels used gear drive from the factory.
