I barelly have my foot on the pedal at 1700rpm's. less than I do when I have it in 3rd gear. I have a 406 built for torque with plenty of it, and it is perfectly happy at 1700. The TC stays locked and cool. All the tranny mechanics that I know including the shop that built mine have told me to stay out of OD unless running at a steady speed on flat ground. I Would like 4.56's not 5.13's though, it just isnt economical for highway driving OD tranny or not. There is a reason why GM sold our trucks with factory 2.73 through 3.42 with 3.73 being the "towing package gears" for low rpm cruising in OD for good mileage. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif You can't convince me that higher RPM gets better mileage than lower RPM with a torquey motor. I don't want really low gears because I still want to use my OD for what it was attended for.. fuel mileage. I would like 4.56's because that wouldn't be bad for both highway/city/ offroad use but for now I will live with my 4.10's. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
