how much can you get a 6.5T for?
I have friends that have paid $10-15000cdn to have the dealer replace dead 6.5s
the first time I thought the guy was BSing but another told me similar story
how much can you get a 6BT for?

Like was said, apples to watermellons. Ive seen 6.5 runners complete with computer go for under a grand, hell i saw a 6.5TD, with 95K on it sell for $600. People practically give away 6.2's.
I don't know who said a d-max is just an engine for towing but all I can say is they are fast! Along with any other bomber diesel out there. I would love to see a dmax K5 but the point was it would be cheaper to go with a Cummins 5.9 and yes they are heavier but the cummins is faster than a Dmax soley because the aftermarket hasn't caught up with the dmax. The DHRA is dominated by cummins right now but we will see after some hi performance aftermarket parts hit the market for the dmax besides a chip.

I beg to differ.

Dmax guys wish all you want but no. Only because there aren't serious HO hardparts for them yet, last time I checked. Check out the DHRA.
Stock doesn't matter really because the guy that wins is the one that has best ECM at the time. Example...an '01 dmax is slightly faster than my '01 dodge CTD, chevys ECM's were set higher than the dodges that year. For '04 dodge had the best ECM with the 600 cummins.
It only matters when both motors are seriously bombed past what the ECM can do alone in my book.
