There are 4340 chrome molly for like 80.00 anyone have any input on these:popcorn::dunno:

Personnaly I wouldn't do anything other than stock or I jump straight to a CV axle.
No point in using stronger material when the design is flawed.
a U joint is not the right design for a turning knuckle, you need a CV joint or Double cardan joint.:D
Too bad the only one I see for sale is $1300 for a D44 and $2000 for a D60, but if I have to, it's the only thing I would use.

I had found an add for their spindles a while back and posted the same basic question, couple of guys posted some links to pirate about the quality of their stubs, more or less the guys over there are saying they are junk, India made, hard to warranty junk. I will post the link to my post with the pirate links in it :D

If you dont feel like reading the pirate thread. I will sum it up for you. They are crap. Stay away from them.

The ears on the passenger side inner axle for my Dana 60 where fubared from a u joint letting go. Looked around for stock replacement with no luck ended up finding the "Durasolid" one on ebay. Bought it as the price was right took about 2 weeks to come in from "India" and when I went to install it ran into clearance problems sliding through the axle opening in the steering knuckle. Had to grind off about a 1/4 inch of the outer edges edges of the U's to get them to fit. That being said It looked like a decent made piece for the price. Havent really wheeled it hard over the past year with the headgasket issues, but now that my new motor is in Ill put it through its paces.

You get what you pay for as they say, I knew at the time the part may have issues but didnt have the coin at the time to get a better one.

Im putting a Dura Solid axle in my rear d60 and yes I know they are a cheap shaft but when the cheapest used one I could find for it was $100+shipping and the dura solids where $130+shipping so I said screw it and paid $153 to my door for the Dura Solid axle. Its just something cheap to get me back out in the woods till I can put my d70 under the rear.
