can you hook a brother up with the e-brake assembly from the drums of your 14bolt? i was stupid a while ago and cut the lines off of mine because they weren't hooked up to anything. now i want to hook them up and the junk yard won't let me pull apart a complete axle assembly to do this....

:1zhelp:

You could buy the cables new and the pricing isn't that bad. I'm assuming you only cut the cables at or near the backing plate?

thats right. i didn't know you could buy the cables new alone... i was looking at a 14 bolt at the u-pull-it today and couldn't figure out how the cable attaches to the little actuator thingy inside the drum...

I've got brand new cables for sale. All depends on which backing plates you have. There's 2 different types, a bolt-on and a push-in type.

this is what i've got:

haven't pulled it apart to figure out how to remove the cable - if i spin those two bolts, they just spin and don't loosen.

I have everything to go inside the drums on a 1 ton 14FF. You have the bolt on style parking brake cables so Wes's parts won't work.

After I get done with finals this week I'll open it up and get some pics.

Nope, my cables won't work on those plates.

I'm assuming this 14FF you have is under the '73 listed in you sig?

If so, both cables will be equal length and bolt on at the plate end.
