1/2 ton status
ok i need some help on the e-brake cables for this thing too. deal is sf14b 8lug going in a 85' 1/2 ton silverado LWB, axles came from a 3/4 sub. both trucks are 85's. the cables on the 1/2 ton w/ the 10b in had a short cable on the driver side w/ a threaded end for adj. and the pass. side was long and came over to the D side and both met in a braket right off the frame. the cable to the pedal goes up the drivers side. the long cable went through the braket and spliced to the pedal cable. now, the sf14b has equal length cables coming out of the backing plates. oh, one last thing the cables on the 10b were press in to the backing plates and the sf14b ones are bolt in. ok now for the question why would they build a diferent system for the sub and the truck dont they have the same basic chasis? and how can i get the e-brake hooked back up? thanks agian -jusitn
I swear this axle swap is more complicated than the 60/14b swap on my blazer!

. i'll try to get some pics, but it is just as you described. what do you recomend for fixing the problem? is there a reasonable way to fab somthing to hook'em up? i'll check w/ the local yard and see if i can get some backing plates cheap, but i doubt it. they will just want to sell the whole rear end. i know there is one out there though i saw it today when looking for some u-bolt plates. 88-98 single cab w/ 13" brakes and all.
