i just put my black magic E-fan on to go with my my engine....just one thing...it has about 2" of open radiator on the bottom and top and about 3 1/2" on either side.....is this how e fans work? or do i need to get a shroud to fit my fan/radiator?....:doah:

Is your fan flush with the radiator? The only real concern with gaps at the top and bottom would be if the fan is spaced back from the radiator, so that hot air could be easily pulled in from the engine compartment, instead of through the radiator. Of course this would happen if the fan wasn't strong enough, or the radiator is simply too much of a restriction to flow.

At speed it's better to have open radiator surface, since the air will flow through the radiator easier with nothing behind it (like a fan shroud) to block it.
