I've always found the right gearing to be a better way than a hot motor. I have pretty much stock 350 and it's never the lack of hp thats not got me over something....It's the lack of traction or getting hung up that has stopped me.

Keep in mind, I drive like an old man.:D

I'm all for gearing and do drive with least amount of skinny pedal. I hate breaking anything and that skinny pedal really is the he breakage pedal. I just want to build a torque monster for the sake of building one though lol

I kind of wish they TPI'd BBs, I love the look.

Man you know it! So sexy looking. The set up from a Ramjet bbc would work but they are usually priced higher than a better aftermarket system.

I just like them because of the long runners with high velocity and multi port capability. I feel like a big block I'll start loving the skinny pedal too much and start breaking a lot of stuff lol

Don't dread it, embrace the skinny pedal. Think of it more as a means to upgrade weaker parts. :D

This is why I want to go 32 spline sm465/205 lol. That would be a crappy break but not as bad as a sector shaft, broke one on my jeep once. In a rock garden in an canyon.... At least
The rear crossmember and bumper I built show cases my welding skills by not even thinking of failing, lol.

I think I'll be right next to you, watching. Mine is nowhere near capable of doing that. Doesn't even have lockers :doah:. But like I said before. I'm good being a support rig and camera person. I usually took most of the photos from my other outings.

Well my truck building progress has come to a screeching halt. Retooling the GM plant, so going to be working 7-10s for a month or two, and possibly (probably) bumped to 7-12s. So, it will be mental building and hopefully the ability to buy everything now and have a pile o parts ready. AND pay doubles on the house for awhile.

Man, that sucks that you'll be working from can to can't but at least you'll have a pile of parts.

I finally put some tires on it that hold air.... Ordered the spring plates so I can atleast put my 60 under the front hope to have that in next weekend.

I believe I will stay away from Lions Den. My truck would never look the same. Also not ready to mangle it up that much just yet. LOL

He should have narrowed the front end and lifted the front bumper above the frame.......Dam I gotta get working on the truck!!!!

Well that sucks.....And good at the same time. I hope the Gov doesn't take to much of it.

Ha, they take half pretty much.

But, I have never been to a GM plant before, mostly large coal plants, hospitals, schools and so on. So it is interesting to watch the Colorado and the Savanna being made. Assembly line is pretty nifty when you get to see it on a massive scale. 98 acres of roof the place is. So its big. And meh, being in this local has gotten me a large wide variety of work in my career. From changing residential furnaces to hanging a piece of duct work big enough to drive the tallest truck on this site through and turn the the elbows without backing up. So, it is what it is. Always something new and different is a nice thing in a job IMO. Meet new folks (some cool some not), go new places and do new things.

The money I imagine will be nice for 30-90 days. Allow some major bill paying and responsible adult behavior, which allows guilt free spending on the truck after thats taken care of.
