hello to everyone,

I am trying to find parts for an axle that I can't any info on. Its a 3/4 ton 10 bolt 8 lug. It came off a 68 chevy c20. If any one has any info on where to get parts it would be greatly appreciated.

Check the information in your first post. An 8 lug 10 bolt would not be on a 68 model truck. If the axle came off a 68 it would most likely be a closed knuckle Dana 44.

What information are you trying to find out about it? The are only minor differences between the 6 lug and 8 lug 10 bolt axles.

He might have a D44 which incidently also has 10 bolts.:D

Photos are always a big help. I was way off thinking you were describing a front end. That is an Eaton full floater rear axle. (I believe that is an HO-52 but not positive.) It would have been the stock rear on a 68 c20 as you said.

Edit your first post to change the title of your thread and the Eaton specialist will be able to give you more info than I can.

Here are some photos of the axle and I just would like to know what it came from, what it is, and where I could find parts for it

Rear Axle

It's funny, we make fun of noobs and here we are reading the post that says out of a C20 and we didn't think it could be a rear axle.

So what do you need to know?

resurrected jimmy thanks for the advice that is a major help.

Iceman I am curious as to where I can find parts, I just googled it and it looks like 14bff parts are interchangeable with this axle is that correct?

thanks again guys

Well...
The 14bff axle shafts will work if you use 14bff side gears.
it's the same length and thickness but the splines on a 14bff are 30, on the eaton it's 19 or 17, so it will not work unless you have both from the 14bff.
That is how people put a Detroit locker in the eaton, they use a 14bff detroit and shafts.
I am not sure if the brakes also fit but there is no need since you can get those cheap.
Gears are not interchangeable.
