ive got a edelbrock 1903 795cfm carb hot air choke qjet spreadbore on a very mild 454, when at WOT it will get up to about 3500 and bog down, its not running too rich, the secondarys wont open and theres no vacum leaks..?

Sorry, can't help you on the Edelbrock carb. But we also have a 454 in our '84. It has an Edelbrock intake with Rochester carb. Looking to replace the carb. Would you recommend Edelbrock over Holley?

We have a TH350. Paired with the 454, we have a real dog. Do you find the performance of the 454 with 700R4 acceptable? Locally, I am looking at $ +2000 to swap in a 700R4. Ouch.

How did you find out the HP and torque on your 454?

definatly edelbrock I HATE HOLLEY:mad: and will never purchase another one of their products or any of their subsidiaries.

see now I would do the oposite I bought 2 edelbrock carbs thinking the first was just a fluke nope big piece of #@!%^&***$ I spent 600.00 on carbs brought them in to a shop to see if I was setting them up wrong ? NO just junk !!! I will put a Q-Junk on before I will put another Edelbrock on

this all my opinion! results for others may vary ( Holleys RULE )

I went through 4 holleys returning them all to holley for repair, I also thought it may have been my error so I paid a shop to look at it still no go so they talked to holley and had another carb brought #5 still no go, holley sent me a refund I ordered an eddy bolted it on and it worked flawlessly barely had to tune it. So luckily all I lost was alot of time.
