I was going to try to work on it today but between between being sick and its freezing in my garage and my heater is out of propane I decided to have a lazy day and buy more parts... :)

Don't over estimate me, they sent that throttle bracket for free!
 
I ordered the PF-4. The air cleaner and bracket came with it, promo.
Never looked up what they would cost. Are they spendy?

Damn I did not know they were having that promotion.
 
Adding 3% to cold start enrichment in the bottom range and giving it 2% cranking fuel made it start without touching the gas pedal on the first try. It stumbled again, but then pulled it up to 1100 rpm.
CTS was at 23* , IAT was at 21*.
So I added little bit more for next time.

My point is that just a few percentage points make a difference, didn't cure it, but helped. Now I have a little bit of feel for that adjustment.
 
No, it isn't multiple spark, but it can be hooked up to an MSD box, the schematic is included.

And I did notice last night, that after only a little more than 200 miles, the short term fuel trim was hovering around 0% at idle. The long term is about 25%, and I will have to see if I should do anything due to that.

my cruise has a pod attached to the rear of the driver side head. it's attached to the carb/throttle body via a rod. shouldn't need a bracket for it.

The problem is attaching the stud for the cruise control rod. There isn't much room on the back side of the throttle lever for the nut which holds the stud.
 
This is from this morning. I was noticing the coolant temp and air temp matching the ambient temp. The fuel pressure was falling already since the pump prime cycle had ended before I took the screen shot. I was busy looking at temps.. It won't stay running after the initial fire-up, without holding the gas pedal a little bit. It starts and surges a few times, and dies. I adjusted the cold start enrichment and crank fuel more, which helped, but I didn't like letting it stumble like it was, so I just held the throttle cracked, and it fired, cleaned up and idled at 1100 rpm. I don't know if I can get it adjusted to start without touching the gas, but time will tell. It might be that I have to try more than 10% on the cold start enrichment and more than 5% on cranking fuel. I was being cautious as I didn't want to foul any spark plugs. I know that it is not close to the max adjustment, but I am puzzled as to why cracking the throttle lets it run. It seems like the IAC has a difficult time getting it sorted out on initial start at the low temperatures.

Sounds like your iac isn’t open enough.

Yep. 91% open or closed? If it’s already almost all the way open you may need to open the mechanical stop a little bit.
 
I didn't state that I had not tried to crank the engine prior to the screenshot. Yes, the 91% is how far open, I set the throttle blades during initial setup so as to get IAC at less than 5%. As far as I remember, it still hovers around 3-4% when warm. After talking with @Bent77 now, I am thinking that since my long term fuel trim is around 25% , that maybe I should try adding more to the cold enrichment setting at the 25* and below range. I have not found any control of the idle rpm when below 165*, and I have set mine at 712 rpm for less harsh engagement of the auto transmission, essentially in double low.
I will gladly take touching the pedal to start it in low temperatures, if it lets me be satisfied with the idle speed the rest of the time.
I will double check my IAC later.
 
If you look at the screenshot in post #112, that was just after it had gone over the 165* mark on the coolant temp. IAC was at 2%. I will have to see what I find today.

Edelbrock should have a bracket for that I would think...?
