My cast alum Chevrolet valve covers barely clear the connectors. I use to have fabricated alum. Covers and those would not clear since they went past the cover bolt holes.

well ill start diasembly in the morning will strat install thread with picks and i got the screw in version of the air temp
 
any reason not to use vasoline instead of silicon paste? It says in the instructions for regulator to use silicon paste
 
Are you talking about to lube the o-ring when assembling the fitting? You can use oil, WD, just a tiny film so the o-ring slides and doesn't tear. If you put too much it could contaminate your injectors for any fittings that are ahead of the fuel rails, except oil should be washed out by gasoline since they are both petroleum products.

Only time I would use vasoline on o-rings is for water fittings.

It works perfectly for O-rings. That's what I was taught to use 30 years ago when we were building hydraulic cylinders and valve banks. Transmission builders have a red version so that it's easier to see the coating of lubrication.

All I ever heard it used for was water. When I was in the Navy our ship did some time in the shipyards for refit and I remember the shipyard guys bitchin about how we didn't have any vasoline in the engine room and they wondered how we ever got any of the water fittings to not leak. Because we were a nuclear power plant, we weren't allowed to use "foreign" substances like that.
