Can someone tell me where this thing is at? 1988 2500 4x4 auto 6.2 n/a motor. I heard that it messes with glow-plugs shift pattern of trans, makes a humming in radio. I got all those symptoms. I've had people show me the EGR valve. It has to have a electrial wire to it. Oh yea it should cost around $100.00 everything else does anymore.

On the gas engines you can find it by following the vacuum line back from the EGR valve to the solenoid. A new solenoid for the gas rigs is $14. I hope it's that easy (and cheap!) for your oil burner...

its..

Its right on the rear of the intake, next to the vacuum pump (if your motor has one,and I assume it does if it has an automatic tranny with a modulator, like a TH400 or Th350,and an EGR valve.)..its on the drivers side ,near the valve cover..you'll see the vacuum hoses and wires..mine is disconnected..
