Here is a link to the controller.
http://www.dccontrol.com/constant_temperature_controllers.htm

The fan is off the fullsize ford v8 cars, like the Mark 8. It's a two speed fan, the controller is multi-speed, the shroud is aluminum and was made to fit my 85 K5 WITH aftermarket FAT radiator perfectly. I will throw in the 70a breaker in the picture and a spare fan too. Lastly, the plastic shroud on the fan is slightly different from the picture, I had to modify it. Instead of bolting through the sides of the plastic, I cut all the sides off, so now it lays flat against the aluminum and is bolted through with SS bolts. I'll try to get an updated picture, but it's raining for the next couple days :(

I've got stupid money into this. The controller when new (has about 300miles on it) is about $150, then having someone weld up a shroud, 2 fans, and breaker..... $$$. I'll do the whole lot $100 plus shipping. If all you need is the controller, $90 shipped.

Why are you getting rid of it. It seems like you have the ultimate setup, so why don't you like it?

I'm pretty interested either way. How much shipped to 79701?

Thanks,
Buddy

The only complicated system on the truck is my fuel injection. Not that an electric fan is complicated, but I really wanted to simplify the truck as much as possible. My AC system will probably be next :D

I don't really know unless I pack it to be sure. I estimated the box at 20lbs. 30x25x8 box, hopefully I can make something clean enough that they will take it. Fedex is very picky about what they accept.

Fedex is $31 with those figures, UPS is $35. Actually, it's gunna be more with the extra fan now that I think about it, the 8" figure and weight will be higher :( Could you find an extra at a junkyard cheaper that having this one shipped? Doubt it. What do you think?

Damn, I was gonna do a windstar fan but for 100 bucks this might be much less hassle. Do we know if this pulls more or less CFM than the Windstar fan? I really want to be able to use my AC when crawling in our hot Cali summers.

just wiring it up

I'm not sure if I'll be able to find the manual for the controller, haven't looked yet. At worst, you can probably get a pdf file from the manufacturer. The yellow wire is for a keyed on source and the blue is for the AC (or the other way around) You can have it run with key on or independent. I ran a relay to trick it into thinking the key was always on and ran a switch on the dash to tell it was off. This way it would run with the engine off until the temperature came down and I could manually turn it off. Never ran the AC wire IIRC, don't have working AC.

Ever make it up this way? I'll be visiting a shop called ABS Power Brake Inc soon. They are in Orange near Chapman and Glassell. I guess near the Chapman University. I'm dropping off my Blazer there at some point, hopefully soon.

Nice. So youre including the relays and the temp switch as well? I dont get up to LA often but Chapman is real close to me so if youre down there that would be easy.

opps, not sure if I still have that relay or not, may have used it. Wasn't thinking about that cause it's not necessary.

Temp switch? It comes with a temp probe that goes into the radiator. Is that what you mean?

Hell, I'll sweeten the pot. You give me a ride to the McDonald's in Temple City, you can have all of it (minus the extra fan, I'll give that to a friend who has this setup in his Bronco) for free. This way, my brother or whoever doesn't have to follow me down the first time, deal with traffic, or deal with schedule conflicts.

Ah, a temp probe, gotcha. Also i think the drive swap could work just fine. What day are you thinking?

crap, I'm normally SUPER on top of my classified posts. Sorry, it is gone. Thanks for looking.
