Electric fuel pressure gauge? Does anyone make one?

Looking to have a sender in the line and a gauge in the cab, with wires between the two...

Should be simple enough, but I can't find one...

Am I just not looking hard enough?

They are expensive. I have ordered all the parts for it, but never installed it. I will have to see if I can find the info. It's an autometer guage, I remember that. I'm actually not going to use what I bought......

If it is stupid money I'm out...

I have 3-4 mechanical gauges floating around that I could plumb in for static reference... hoping to get something permanent for driving reference that isn't mounted on my hood...

Huh. Whats the difference between a gas pressure sender and oil pressure sender? Overall externally they appear to be the same. I assume failure could be slightly more problematic with fuel, maybe that is part of it?

Random result from quick searching found this at $18 for fuel https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pressure-t...0-psi-5V-for-oil-fuel-air-water-/261260635816

I always question parts that are significantly below what they are elsewhere (in this case what, 10 times less than what Summit is selling?) but interesting that someone is turning them out dirt cheap. I recall from looking at aftermarket gauges/senders before, price goes up exponentially when you get away from the OEM stuff, even with oil and coolant.

FWIW I had one of these crimped plastic to metal units fail (in that case 4WD indicator, but same assembly technique it appears) and I'm not real sure I'd like one of those things hanging off my fuel line anywhere. In-tank perhaps, but all it would take is a stick or dropped wrench on the right spot to knock the plastic portion off.

You can run a mechanical guage with an isolator cheaper ($200 for guage & isolator, plus hose and fittings).

Come to think of it, I don't understand why the gauge is so expensive. I don't remember paying that much when I got it a couple years ago, but I suppose I did.

The funny thing is that those are delphi connectors. Exactly what GM uses.

I vote that @Justin V should do the hood mounted gauge. I think it would be neat and different (aside from ryoken who is a good example to follow anyway).

B&M has a cheap one . I bought one for T/S.
Uses a larger sender.

Edit: It’s a Holley 0-15 psi

I have had or still do a few electric auto meter gauges for fuel pressure . 1/8" pipe thread sender and 3 tiny wires .

Are you running a carb or injection? I got this one from jegs for $96.26. Came with sender and gauge. For a carb, still obviously haven't installed mine either.

Oh yeah it comes with a little mounting bracket for the gauge too

That’s the one I have and using a carb.
Reads 5 psi at idle while my direct read gauge reads 6.
Can’t say which is more correct but the EDL mechanical pump I use is supposed to be 6 psi.

It takes a little leg work to save some dollars in this department. I just recently did fuel, oil, and dome pressure for my holley HP. I used these transducers which are basically a repop of holleys.

They are .5-5v reference. And need to be calibrated to be dead accurate. I shoved a meter on all of mine and plumbed them to air then recorded my voltages for each at 0psi and 100psi. Only one of them was off at .45v for 0psi instead of .5v.

You should be able to run a cheaper gauge like this, wired to the cheaper sensor.

You can call dakota and ask them what the voltage sweep for the sender should be by bluffing and telling them yours needs to be tested. Id be willing to bet its .5-5v. I dont know what your running for an engine but 5v can either be pulled from a modern fuel injection harness off any sensor reference voltage or if you dont want to cut into your harness you can wire one of these.
