Without seeing the winch it's difficult for anyone to give you an answer. My personal opinion, it's usually better in the long run, to get something made for your application in the first place. Example, I purchased a PTO winch from a farm truck for $100 then had to spend another $265 for the pto unit and parts to fit my transfer case. Still a good deal but all these "deals" come with their hidden costs. Ultimately, you'll have to make your own final call.

You'll need a pto to drive a hydralic pump and a control valve assembly to control it. But once everything is hooked up you could winch all day as long as the motor is running. Also you'll need a hydralic tank to hold the fluid.
