Hey Guys,
So I'm giving the truck a once over trying to clean up some of the previous owners handy work. Truck is an 87 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4.
It appears the he attempt to splice some wires together. #1 goes from alternator bracket to splice. #2 goes from splice to ground on grill/rad support. #3 goes from splice to negative on battery. No other wires are connected to battery ground. If vehicle is running (after boost) wire going to negative on battery extremely hot (Some kind of stereo gauge wire
)!
On that note even when vehicle is running, minimal light and power to move windows.
Ideas.
#1 Check alternator output
#2 Replace battery (from 1812)
#3 Replace/sort out wiring for negative and alternator bracket ground
Any suggestions on how the proper wiring should be?
