I have an 83' w/ a 305. My instrumentation and running lights arent working. my head lights work. I've checked all the fuses, replaced the dimmer switch and still nothing. Any ideas?

This may sound like a stupid question,but.....Have you replaced the bulbs?

yes i've replaces all the bulbs. the fasten seat belt and parking light brake light illuminate, but all the other lights are not. With the old dimmer switch the dome light would work, now with the new dimmer switch the dome light doesnt work at all. When i first got the truck the first day the lights worked after that they havent.
Did you check all the grounds?
The grounds all connect on the A pillar driver side, under the dash.
Also the door switches could be bad.
Also do you have a functionning Horn?
The fuse is the same for the dash light, the cigarette lighter and the horn.

No the horn doesnt work. and i checked all the fuses under the dash. door switch?
If the horn is not working, look again at the fuses, sometimes it might look like it's good, but it either is broken and still close, or the contact has oxidation.
I believe the fuse will say dome light, or Horn, take it out clean it, or preferable change it for a new one.

if the the fuse was bad. wouldnt the parking brake light and fasten seat belt light not work as well?
