The plastic valve that is located on top of the fuel filter. On the passenger side. It screws in and out. Well put my hand on it one turn and it broke the top right off.

I need to have my truck running sooner than later. Anyone got one. I will pay for shipping and your troubles. Its hard to get to the wrecking yards with Sawyer. Still going to have to on Monday.

I think it is called the air bleed valve. Once again it is the plastic valve on top of the square fuel filter, it is on the passenger side of the filter housing, with a small barb below it sticking out to the passenger side.

So looking at it it appears if I can get it screwed down it will work as the hole goes all the way through to the top?

Yes or no.

I would still like the part if anyone has one

Here are pics of where it is located

There's a guy selling the whole filter base assembly in the general parts for sale section.

Just a FYI.

Or you could ditch that filter box and run a proper Racor...

Just as a guess, I think you would be OK if you can get it screwed down. That top piece just looks like the actuator to turn the valve.

So after looking closely at it. I think just screwing it down will do the trick. After I broke it, was kind of obvious it had been glued together before.

It is solid towards the bottom, so out came a big phillips head screwdriver and down it went. Pretty sure I got it all the way down. Will know soon enough.

And yes Rene I plan on switching it to the screw on filter sooner than later

I will admit here to freaking out a bit. Just been one of those days.

I may have one of those filter assemblies still out in my parts pile... I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know!

The biggest reason to get rid of the square filter is they're notorious for cracking in behind the filter block, cheating air and making life a misery.

I'd ditch that style filter & base and get the 1982 style that had the bigger spin on filter and takes a Wix 33123 filter that has a water separator & drain valve...

I have a Raycor on my'85 Burb that a former owner put on it--I'm not impressed with it--has a plastic bowl that looks like its pretty fragile, and and filters and parts for them are expensive..I may just buy a Wix kit that takes the 33123 filter and has the same remote base mount the 1982 style was, they cost about 30 bucks last time I priced one..filters go for 15-20 bucks...guy who sold me the burb said he had to pay 35 bucks for a replacement filter for it--which is still in the box of spare parts in the back seat!..
