I bought this 1987 GMC Suburban V2500 with a 350 from family friends in Jan. 2011 for $500. It had sat for around 8 years and just needed some TLC to get it on the road. Here it is the day the tow truck dropped it off.

Future plans include: Auto meter gauges, onboard air with train horns and quick connect at rear bumper, bolt on performance parts, aluminum valve covers, spark plug wire loom, new bumpers, led lights where available, Viper Smartstart, license plate backup camera with lcd in the visor, PAINT! And I'm sure the list will grow but that's what I hope to get done sooner than later.

Do you like those kick panel speakers? I had them in my '90 K5 and I ripped them out and discarded them. I thought it was a piss poor location for them.

I like them. They look clean and sound good. I don't have a problem kicking them. It's really the only option I have for speakers up front. I've seen people put them in the doors but I have auto windows and that does work out.

Its come along way since you got it. Good start!

I think so. I haven't done anything to it since August but will be starting back up in a couple of weeks. Redoing the interior in 2 weeks. Reupholstering the seats and getting new carpet, bottom door pieces, and door inserts. All in black. Just ordered a new dash pad last night also.

Nice i like how its turning out. Usually not a fan of large wheels but im digging your wheel/tire/lift combo. Has a good looking stance. How do you like lmc headlights and side markers? i was thinking of doing them on my 89

I really like the look of the side markers. The originals were all amber and I like how these are half clear. The headlights are great. Huge difference in visibility. I'll probably put HIDs in after the bulbs burn out. I also bought the heavy duty wiring harness which I recommend.

Haven't been active here much in the past 3 or 4 years and I didn't realize there were such headlight upgrades available. Learn something new every day. :D

Nice burb! :waytogo:

Before and after of my e-fan install. Still need to get some flex tube and clean up the wires.

Dual tube air cleaner project. Still need to find a tube that will work. Tried a clothes dryer tube but couldn't get it on.

Just find another OEM intake tube. That's what I did on my 1988 V10 Suburban when I added a serpentine belt setup off a 1992 Camaro.

Here is a ****ty cell phone picture. There is even a punch out already in the radiator support.

I need something longer and with flex from end to end. If you notice, the 2nd inlet was welded upside down because of the air cleaner sitting up higher due to the power charger and TBI spacer. It was the only way to do it and make it go between the a/c hoses and master cylinder. Now that I really look at yours that may work. That's from an 88?

Waiting to see the interior transformation to black.
