Emersonsdad's '87 Burb Build

New dash! Ordered it awhile ago but the wife wouldn't let me open it until my birthday yesterday.

The Burb has been at the upholstery shop 2 weeks today. Hopefully I get to pick it up soon. The guy originally wanted to keep it a month but got him to let me have it while he does the back seat.

I was also thinking of doing this dual air cleaner thing. But out of curiousity, why didnt you make the tubes coming out of the round air box point the same way? /O\ Now work with me, its hard to do this with limited symbols, but imagine cutting your box in half, and laying it on itself with the tubes on the same end. See how they point in opposite directions? Could you have done what you did, but had them both the same. So if you was to cut it in half, it would look like 1 instead of 2 when you laid them on top of each other? Hard to explain but do you understand?

Not bashing your idea, I have planned on doing it for awhile, just wondering if there was a reason it couldnt be done like I have planned, so I can save my self a headache.

Do you mean symmetrical? After installing the TBI spacer and power charger, it raised the air cleaner up to where it was level with the master cylinder. Other wise it would of worked out where the tube would of run under it but this was the best I could do with really only having to bend the a/c hoses.

Yes, thats what I ment. Ok, thanks, I dont run a spacer or a powercharger, and have no plans on doing so. So I can run it the way I had planned originally. Plus I have a body lift, and that might make it easier to fit.

Finally after a month I've got the Burb back. Super happy with the results.

I'm still going to replace the door pockets, armrests, and pulls for black ones then start replacing the seat belts one by one. When I get back from work I'll install the new dash pad.

Looks great! If you arent using the metal pieces that go on the end of the handles I have some use for em

Thanx! I'll look for the old ones but I think they got tossed and I don't think the new ones come with them. But if I do have them they're yours.

This was my stereo system install which I half way need to do again after getting the interior redone.
