Emissions problem

Problem; 88 chev corsica 2.0 AT rings gone, so far gone that I have a smoking problem and a high HC problem need to get it through an emissions test any suggestions? short of new rings or engine replacement.

I know, push it out in the street and set it on fire!

Some states have exemptions, based on cost of repair to meet standards. They don't advertise this fact, so you might want to do some digging into the regs. Good Luck!!!
