Hey guys, my truck currently has no inner fenders since i took em out to get enough trimmage done. i need something to keep mud, water etc out of there. what is the best way to seal up my engine compartment to keep all the crap out of there?

the fender? sheetmetal could i guess but keep it away from the exhaust manifold
Some kind of rubber sheet (kinda like the OEM often use to cover inner fender gaps)?
i have though of running rod from firewall to radiator support then some rubber from fender, bent over rod and down to frame. tire could get into it too and not cut it up
And its cheap, easy, light and effective.
The aesthetics all depend on how well you set it up
the rubber idea sounds like it could work
