Hello everyone, my name is Dave Cubbage. I build engine crossmember/panhard bar setups for the '73 to '91 full size GM trucks.

I custom build these in my spare time as a hobby, more or less, so therefore at this point I don't pump them out in large quanities.

The basic engine crossmember is a stout piece that replaces the factory crossmember and is easily upgraded to utilize a panhard bar by just welding on the p/h bar mounting tabs. This crossmember currently sells for $130 plus shipping.

The crossmember/panhard setup combines the engine crossmember with a panhard bar that really wakes up the steering response on a rig with crossover steering. It pretty much eliminates all bump steer and has been proven to counter death wobble on a couple vehicles that it's been installed on. This setup will work with d44, 10b and d60 axles.
These currently sell for $330 plus shipping.

Have 2 questions for ya. Do they come bare or painted? Also one of the pics shows a crossmember with some fittings of some sort in it, what are those for?

Dump question:

How does this part mount?

I'm curious about the U-bolts.
Yep, bolts to the passenger side tube. The bolt you see protruding thru bolts to the u-bolt plate sans sway bar.

I ship them painted with Rustoleum Hammered dark bronze.

The fittings are there to attach the axle vent hose to if you choose to. Just a little extra feature that cleans up some clutter under the front end.

Oh, O.K.!

So Dave, can you make that bracket to fit a 3.5 inch dia. axle tube?

My D70:

I don't see any problems with that. In fact, it would make for a beefier bracket due to the larger footprint of the machined u-bolt plate.

Would just have to re-engineer the plate to accomodate the larger axle tube.

How much axle tube length is there available to u-bolt the mount to?
Depending on how long the machined mount can be, we might be able to use only u-bolts to attach to the axle tube.

I'm thinking, maybe machine a mounting plate using 3 or 4 u-bolts.

I just took these pics of the Pass. side:

Pretty much same as a D60. Looks like a custom spring plate will have to be made in order to have a secondary attachment point for the mount since the base plate would be only 4" long.

Dave, those are some great looking pieces. Will this work with Hi-steer? I have the ORD setup. Also, does the axle have to be forward of stock?

In the other thread there was talk of possibly making the panhard bar mount to the spring plate for those people that use the area between the passenger side spring plate and knuckle for other things, such as link or coil-over mounts. There was also mention of quick-disconnect option for those that prefer to remove the panhard bar while off road. Has there been any progress in these two areas? Also, will there be any interference issues running the panhard bar on an axle that has been moved forward any or is it only for axles in the stock location.

I'm fairly certain it'll work with a hi steer setup. The only suspension/steering component that is even close to any part of this setup is the steering arm when it swings to the full lefthand position.

And the axle position really doesn't matter, since the lower panhard mount is custom fabbed to work with steering arm configuration, axle position, etc of the particular truck that I'm building it for.

After mulling it over for a bit, I'm somewhat reluctant to use only the spring plate to anchor the p/h bar at the axle. However, using the spring plate in conjunction with another attachment point, to keep that area outboard of the stock spring mounting location clear, is another story. Admittedly, one I haven't pursued yet.

Also, I have not pursued the disconnect option yet. I've got some ideas, but haven't yet executed them on any test pieces.

As far as interference issues on a relocated axle, that's been addressed with a offset lower mount design already.

Another question: What methods of payment do you accept? Since you are kinda doing this on-the-side, I assume you are not set up to accept credit cards. What do you prefer? Paypal? Money Order?

So far, it's been either money order or personal check. Will be getting set up very soon though, to except PayPal

Wow you have no idea ive been looking for a kit like this all day and it was here on ck5 the whole time. I need one of these however due to the way the shocks were mounted to the axles im not sure if it will work without a shock mount relocate ... which i was considering doing anyway ill probably need to send you some pics to see if you think it will work or not.

I read all the threads concerning this product and there was some talk of relocating the point where you mount the bar to the axle to a custom u bolt bracket (over the leaf springs) have you done this yet?

anyway im 99% sure im ordering this from you do you have one ready to ship now or will you need time to fab one up?

Thanks let me know (i wont be able to send pics till tomorrow at the earliest as the blazer isnt at my house atm) Sorry forgot to mention dana 60 front axle
