Hey everyone I got a question I need a few opinions on. About a year ago I swapped to a TBI set up on my 75 Jimmy with great results but after many hard miles on the worn out engine it finally droped compression in one cylinder. I have wanted to build a 383 for awile now but I cam across a 5.7 Vortec engine trans for $500. So I am wondering which one to use. I want about 400 ft lbs of tq and do not know what my options are for the vortec to get it. I am already running 670cfm tbi 4brl edelbrock intake with an adapter plate so if I build the 383 I think I can get enough fuel. Tell me what you guys think.

I would think a cam change, and small tube headers should get you there. SAE gross rating anyway.
