Has anyone seen the specs on the new duramax diesels? Chevy's website shows that for engines produced after septemeber 2005, the duramax mated to the allison 6-speed auto produces: 360hp @ 3000rpm, and 650 ft. lbs @ 1600 rpm! Thats insane. 650 ft lbs at 1600 rpm!!!! Now, if only chevy would put an sfa under there. :doah:

Yessir, they may have it at 700 ft.lb. by the time Toyota comes out with their HD Tundra. They need to compete.

The really cool thing is that you can bump that up into the 850-900 ft/lbs range for $500 or less. :eek1: :eek1: :eek1: :eek1: :eek1: :eek1: :eek1:

No wonder they started producing the 11.5" 14 bolt...holy hell....

Just imagine a 3/4-ton crew cab riding on 35's that can embarrass Mustangs and Camaros at the drag strip. When you start shoving 29 pounds of boost into a Duramax it's just freakin' awesome! :eek1:

No doubt, when the boost hits 30 in our crew cab power stroke I'm either towing or the tires are lit up and it's has significantly less power than the new D-Max's are claiming.

Yeah, there's one guy on the ATS website with an older 300hp duramax in a crew cab 4x4 Silverado that runs something like 12.8 in the 1/4 mile. :eek1:
Clicky!

oooh more boost....

My buddy made a good point, the aftermarket for this motor may not be all that great. This is a 1 year only engine. 2007 has new emissions requirements for diesels coming, almost 100% there will be a new motor, or changed ones in every diesel pickup then.

Don't know the latest updates but there were hush hush rumors of a Ford 6.3 in '07. Nothing was official when I was researching it and they wouldn't even release the official displacement figures, but they admitted they were working on an all new motor.

7.3 to 6.0 to 6.3? its kinda making me think that perhapps there is something wrong with th 6.0 inherently.

rumor is a twin turbo 6.4L for ford in 2007.

Great...two turbo's to pack with soot and twice the bill when the impellers stop spinning...I sure hope Ford/International/Navistar gets it right this time.

End of hijack, the new power numbers for the D-max look awesome, hopefully they'll back it up and it'll be reliable as well. Now if only the '07 SFA rumor would come true.
