ep381 fuel pump noise

I just installed a ep381 fuel pump from rock auto in my 87 K5. Now when I cut it off you can hear it making alot of noise for up to a minute after truck is turn off.

Any ideas? I did use new pump and rubber hose that came in kit.

take a volt meter and make sure it doesnt have power after shut off

A bunch of noise? Is that the pressure forcing it's way back through the pump? What's it sound like?

I wouldn't disagree about the power being an issue, if the fuse is easy to get to, pull it when it's making the noise and see if it stops.
