Any body runnin Ethanol In their rigs

I run it in my 94 Dakota seems to run better ,and it's cheaper.

here it is 2.01 Yesterday for E85 Ethanol

85% Ethanol
15% Gasoline

When Was in Wyoming Ethanol is really popular out west so I see

Just Wondering What Yall Think

Seems like more power to me at least in my truck

You should really watch running ethanol in a truck that wasn't designed for it. The ethanol in the E85 blend is extremely hard on rubber fuel lines, and gaskets. They will deteriorate and fail much quicker.

Normally the ethanol is quite a bit cheaper, but you will also get worse fuel mileage running ethanol compared to regular gas.

the flex fuel vehicles use all stainless steel and other fuel system parts because the alchol is corosive not a good idea to run in a non flex fuel vehicle will run alright for a while but in the long run it will start to corrode the fuel system

alchol makes a little more power but takes more of it to do it i.e. less fuel economy

i drove back from wyoming last week and i ran ethanol most of the way i actually got about 17 vs 15.9 normal on the ethanol

Fil, i dont think your Dakota is flex fuel compatible. watch running that stuff, regardless of how good it runs, and how much better milage you get. it will eat your fuel system from the inside out. if in fact your truck is flex fuel compatible (dealer should be able to tell you) then i'd stick with the E85. otherwise, run your tank dry, just to be sure to get all of that crap out of there.

u normally get only 16 on the highway hmm i would't think it would b that big of a difference between 2 and 4wd and 31's but maybe it is, i get 19 thats only goin like 80 tho

it is cool tho that they started selling e85 at more places if had a flex fuel veh. it used to be more expensive and damn near imposible to find kinda made flex fuel vehicles a waste of money, it'd be nice to have one now

Ethanol has a strong affinity for moisture, and it being an alcohol based fuel, it's very dry, so you'll get more upper cylinder wear with it as well.

Yet another product that makes the farm lobby very happy.

In it's base price, Ethanol is a little more expensive than Regular gasoline. What makes it cheaper at the pump is the tax incentives that are given.

Are your roads good enough to pay around .40 cpg for gas taxes????

Like how many toll roads are allowed to give tax breaks because you are paying for that road with your toll money????

funny you should ask this b/c I cam currently collecting all the stuff necessary to convert my 454 to Ethanol. I was talked into by the guy that buoild my motor who happens to be sponsored by Wyoming Ethanol. He is also currently building an ethanol injected turbo'd 4.3 for my friends Typhoon. In the end, it is hard to say if Ethanol is really worth using over reg. pump gas. I am doing it more for an experiment than anything.

you didnt happen to of filled up at the Gas City at 187th & wolf did you?
nope the gas city on Laporte and Rt 45

I dont really go to the one on wolf y do you ask?

i would like to see the effects of this down the road when the ethonal starts to take its toll on all the non flex fuel vehicles i have seen many people filling up their non flex fuel vehicles with E85

I know at least one of the stations around here with E85, makes the E85 pump prepay only. When you go into pay, they will ask if your vehicle is flex fuel, if it isn't, they will tell you that you shouldn't run it because of what has been said above.

thats a good idea it seems like most people are like o look this is so much cheaper im gonna use this, not having the slightest clue what it is or what it is for
