Is it me or do the '92 body styles really look like the earlier Ford body lines? The wheelwell flares are larger than ours too IIRC.
The inside K5 shots make it look like one of the conversion vehicles up here.
Seeing more shots, it's pretty apparent that at least with the '92 stuff, it's not just a one off.
I'd love to see the dealer brochures for those years/vehicles!

After doing some more searching I'm pretty confident to say the 75 with the suicide doors is not factory. Whoever did it did a decent job though! Seems as if GM de Brazil did not step up to the 2nd gen styling (as shown on the blue 92 above) until the early 90's. The earlier VERANEIO's (translated by yahoo as "summering") looked more like a studabaker than Suburban.

everything about that truck except the grill and the fender tags screams F150. the door handles, the mirrors, the body line, the front bumper, the wheel wells, but its 6 lug

Just take the front doors, turn them around and mount them on opposite sides cut out for the wheel and weld it up.
Yep, anything over 25 years is pretty easy to import. Thats how Im getting my 74 F rd Falcon Sedan (XB) over from Oz. Anything newer gets to be real hectic. I looked into becoming a Registered Importer (RI) for awhile until I really got into the liability issue of it.

my friend was looking into imporing a 70's mg with the factory v8 and he told me that the fed's have to have 15 of the same vehicles to test for crash test safety and emissions. he was living in OK at the time. may be he is full of crap. sorry for the O/T post

Here is what I see. The blazer, looks good and clean with a one piece body tub. The suicide thing looks like a chevyvan/blazer mix. The blue burban and the brown truck are what get me. I see dodge dakota styling, fullsize chevy doors with funny body line across top, s10 grill, and f150 fender openings. The crewcab thing has dakota looking rims. I remember going to mexico about 5 years ago. I saw alot of late model luvs, but almost no 4x4 anythings, except for one jeep.
Just right off of the import guidelines from NHTSA.
"Under 49 U.S.C. § 30112(a), a person may not import into the United States a motor vehicle manufactured after the date that an applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standard (FMVSS) takes effect unless the vehicle complies with the standard and is so certified by its original manufacturer. This prohibition applies to both new and used motor vehicles, but does not apply to motor vehicles that are at least 25 years old. "
For newer vehicles, you either have to get the manufacturer to say that there is a similar model available in the states, or have it crash tested wich doesnt require 15 cars, but is insanely expensive.
