Most of the dual pattern TH350's we sold at the junkyard came out of 78-82 Olds Cutlasses and Monto Carlos, and a few Buick Regals had them...never saw one in a 4x4 truck, but there is no reason one cant be used I suppose,if you swap in the short output shaft...I never saw one that didn't have bolt bolt patterns drilled however......................................................................................................................................................................................................Gm had some labor strikes around 1978 and that is when they started putting chevy 305's in just about all GM cars, you could buy a Pontiac Bonneville with one,or it might have a 301 or 350 pontiac ,same with olds, everyone "shared" engines to offset production line shortages.............................................................................................GM eventualy had class action lawsuits filed against them because some owners were very unhappy to find their Pontiac had a Olds or Chevy engine in it..thats when they started using the multi-pattern trany bellhousings too--it was nice for us parts swappers during that era, with the right motor mounts you could put just about any GM engine in anything!..............................................................................................AMC used the TH400 in Wagoneers and Jeeps, but it had their own bolt pattern in the bellhousing, everything else was GM and identical to a chevy though...
