I installed a new IP on my 6.2 it runs well but on the passenger side the exhaust smokes a lot more than i think it should. It has true duel exhaust no H pipe or anything. is there I should look for that would cuase this issue? I am thinking stuck injector ?

Maybe...usually an injector makes a knock if its flooding the cylinder badly though...one partially clogged or not spraying a good pattern can cause smoking...might be worthwhile to do a compression test (using the proper diesel rated tester),and see if any cylinders are low--might have a head gasket failing or a ring problem...hopefully it wont be that...

You may be able to loosen the injector line at each injector with it running, and listen carefully to see if the knock stops or quiets, and the smoke lessens...a diesel tech showed me how to do that to locate a "dead" cylinder and it also tells you if each injector is working properly...its kinda like pulling a spark plug wire off on a gas engine..I'm scared to TOUCH the injector lines on my trucks though--look like they have barnacles growing on them they are so crusty, and are gauranteed to twist off or leak if I attempt to put a wrench near them...haven't seen any good used ones in junkyards here either, and they cost more online for obsolete NOS ones than my two trucks are worth,so I'm not going to touch them!...each time I drive them I pray one doesn't start spraying fuel everywhere...or the J-B Waterweld putty I put on my porus oil pan 3 years ago dont drop off and empty the crankcase and blow it up.....:doah:..

You could always put a wanted ad on here. Plenty of us out west have rust free spare parts for the 6.2L just taking up space on a shelf.

A generous member here has contacted me via PM about sending me some good injector lines from CA!..:D..so hopefully my barnacle encrusted ones wont pop before they arrive!--did I mention the people here on CK5 are great??..THEY ARE!.....................................................................................................I do have a nice oil pan that was a GM replacement off an '87 engine--but I'm not sure what year the 6.2 in my truck is,its a junkyard replacement of unknown vintage--I read they changed the pans in '87 when they went to a one peice rear main seal..so it might not be the one I need, that has made me reluctant to take the pan off it.......with my mom being in frail condition,I kinda hate to start tearing my truck apart and have to worry about her passing on me while I'm knee deep in a major undertaking..it may just get more J-B putty or fiberglass cloth & resin till I can get to doing it "right".............................................................................................
