Starting to call it a custom Silverado now. Body was a custom deluxe now it’s getting Silverado treatment with some upgraded stuff.
So the overhead console has map lights, how would I go about using a door switch to turn them on with the doors open but turn them on with the button next to them with the door closed? Map lights have a power and ground coming out.
Have the door switches activate a relay that sends power to the button when the door is open.
Have the button next to them connect to the output of the relay in one position, and direct to power in the other.

I had a feeling a relay was going to be my friend. Just didn’t want to add it.
You could skip the relay and just wire into the dome light circuit, so long as the button can switch between inputs.
That’s what I was trying to do but not sure how to get that to work.
The problem is that most buttons are going to work like this:

Being it’s just a power and ground a relay is going to be the ticket.
