Exhaust decissions

"Dynomax Thrush mufflers" I have heard good things about these... From the 350 I run hookers to glasspacks out the sides in front of the rear tires.. I was thinking of upgrading myself... the glasspacks were cheap but it is time for an upgrade... Let us know what you decide to run..
Just installed mine, about as cheap as glasspacks, I think they were 17 something a piece. So much better than the glasspacks the PO put in.

abolutely nothing wrong with FlowTech headers. i've had several sets. not only are they cheap, but they carry a lifetime warranty. they rust out? pull em off and get a new pair. :D around $80.00 a set, fitment isnt bad at all. i will agree that weld quality could use some attention, but for $80 what can you expect?

I agree....

I'm running dual 2.5" turbo tubes on my 454 K5. I had some Thrush turbos on it and I didn't really like the way they sounded. When we made my anti wrap bar last week the thrush's were right in the way so I went to a local muffler shop and bought the turbo tubes. The body is about 18" long and I think they sound pretty good. Maybe ask Steve Kibbe or clarkjw24. They were behind me on the trail last weekend when I opened it up a little :D

Flowtech

The Afterburners hit the tranny shift linkage in my '90 Burban, and yes they were the right part number. Quality was very low. In talking to Summit, the tech guy said the non-afterburner Flowtechs were the same product as the Summit brand headers, and the regular 4 into 1 headers would fit well. However, I got Heddman elites, for $309 you get 3/8" flange, 14 ga tubing, ball collectors, and ceramic coating, but the collectors hit my shackle bolts, and they hang low. Hooker comps fit great on my '74 K20 big block.

If I had to do it all over again I'd go Hooker comps for cheapies, or Thorley makes a set for the Burban with a nice y pipe that exits 3" right where the stock cat goes. Then I'd just put in a hi-flow cat, a hooker max flow, hooker aerochamber, or spin tech muffler and dump in front of the rear wheel. One 4' stick of tube and a 90* mandrel bend for the tailpipe, a couple of hangers, and your done... I think the Thorley headers with y pipe is about $500, but that y pipe will save a lot of work, especially if youre using mandrel bends.
