As the title says. I'm wanting ideas for my exhaust shop to go with. I don't want to get rid of my headers, but they are fairly low. I want to run single 3" but not sure whether I will have them tie together behind tcase or in the somewhat stock location.

I'm using a big block with shorty headers but basically did the same thing - 2.5" Y pipe into single 3" down the drivers side with a Magnaflow muffler. The Y pipe comes together beside transmission with an extra collector so I can take it apart easily.

Don't know if this will help, but I have the stock system (exhaust manifolds and y-pipe) going into a single 3", exiting behind the driver's side rear wheel.

If you can wait until daylight on the west coast, I can snap some pics of mine.

EDIT: Mine looks pretty much like what's posted above, with the exception of the Flowmaster being a little bit further towards the rear of the truck.

Thats what was in my head. Thank you for the pics. My difference is that I have the Turbo400. Thanks guys.

I used the same flowmaster y pipe thing. Little different, you would need shorty headers, but it's completely out of harms way. :) There is a lot of other pictures here, you just need to do a search. I've seen a few set ups with the crossover after the Tcase

how is the black paint holding up on that? what kind is it?

I used some 500* stuff from Pepboys. It turned white at the bends and around the cat. There is 1200-1500* stuff you can try, but for me this was only temporary till I got everything black ceramic coated.
