I'm looking to improve my uphill towing speed (hiway) and am wodering what combo would be "best". headers? single 3", dual 2 1/4", flowmasters, etc? Subs an '80 w/no cats, stock carb tweaked, curved hei, 4x w/4.10s, dual 2 1/4"s w/no crossover and old "turbo" mufflers. Thanks for all responses.

the best headers for your buck would prolly be hooker headers. they give an improvment over stock exhaust manifolds by far and don't cost that much. alot of people like the 3" single. They say its a big improvment from the dual 2 1/4" flowmasters are good. i know a few people who love ravins but their a lil on the expensive side. hope this helps. i'm sure someone will have better but from what i know thats the best i could come up with. later.

any more opinions? especially regarding the block hugger headers?

block huggers are a little better than stock. the best as far as performance are equal length long tube headders, headman makes them and they are available from summit and jegs for about 99 a pair, those and a set of flowmaster big block mufflers. youll notice a differance, and the sound wont blast you out of the truck like a 40 series, or a glass pack. hope this helps
