New exhaust 3inch dual with Magnaflow mufflers is just to loud. Anyone have a suggestion for a quality quiet muffler? I like some deep tone with acceleration but not the constant roar. Thanks

were does the exhaust exit ? under the body ? under the bumper ? out the sides or past bumper ?

this info helps . cause if under the body / box anywere like this will make it LOUD !

for years i didnt know any better . i installed the tail pipe to just past the rear bumper with a turn down . and HUGE noise level difference in the cab with the same muffler only change was the getting the exhaust out past the echo chamber of the body .

and i tend to favor single muffler less blaaaaaa droan . and 3" and 3" x2 = a lot of droan zone going on .

Bigger Magnaflows. Bigger any muffler really.

Do you have a full tailpipe after the muffler? More length there will help as well.

Should be. Bigger muffler or something sucky and restrictive

First question I have is what engine do you have and how modified is it? The rowdier the "input" the louder the output...

If it's a relatively stock small block I'd lose half the exhaust and go 3" single...

Built 383 - 450 Horse, so it’s got some noise in the input. Hoping to get something not to restrictive but still reasonably quiet.

A) noisy engine builds (450 hp) make noise.
B) dual 3" is likely overkill and the big pipe certainly doesn't reduce noise.
C) a nice single set up can be quieter if that's what you really want.

I have a single 3" set up with a big Magnaflow on my 454 and it's pretty mellow sounding.

2.5" to a y-pipe unit like flowmaster or others sell . then out to single 3" pipe should be all you need .

years ago i had 2 flowmasters on a truck . years of salty winters the rear ends rusted off . got a deal on a 2x inlet 2x outlet same model flowmaster .

installed it and HUGE reduction in the cab of the truck . but still nice out the pipes.

yep, single
reuse a muffler and tailpipe
going out the passenger side would be quieter but always puts the exhaust close to the fuel lines and T-case. (though you already have it down that side)
