EXOSKELETON PICS!!!

Went hunting this thread to ask you which bender you were using, hadn't checked it in a while. Guess my question got answered huh. I picked up that same bender at a garage sale on Saturday for $50. Glad to see that people have had success with it.

BTW, nice pics.

Ok DB I'm trying to figure out how to do it to my truck now. I'm so sick of busting tail lights! Here is what I want to know. You now have tied the body to the bumper so basicly your tied solid. You flexed it yet to see whats going to happen? I know Stephan Watson has tied his cages solid to the frame and I haven't heard any negatives yet but I have my concerns. As much as the frames flex on these trucks I really don't want to have an issue. I'm willing to gove up the frame flex if I can make it solid front to rear so only the suspension moves.
Keep us updated on any problems you run into. I think you have started a trend if it pans out.

what's price per foot for the tubing your using and about how much you looking at. I'm not doing as much (yet) but I've got the damn bender sitting here idle, it needs to get started. Trying to get an idea of how much coin I'm gonna be out to get this started.

one more question....how much wider did this make you? It hugs the body lines pretty good, but you did have to lose some width in the process. What did it add to each side?

OK, I have had the body tied to the frame or qutie a while now. When I added my sliders on the sides quite a while ago, we welded the up to the body. So they are bolted to the frame and welded to the body. I had to do this because they were so heavy that they twisted down on the frame itself and when I drove down the road, they bounced and clanged and made all sorts of noise!!! I will tell you the truth, it really has not been an issue for me, I never notced a differenc in the amount of travel I get. I will say this, it was kind of freak at first because I could feel all the vibrations that I never could before. None of the new stuff is tied to the body.
Lake, well, its hard tp tell how wide I am, but I know it isn't as wide as the tires are if that makes any difference. I came up with about 4 different measurments , it really makes a difference on where I hold my head and close my eye and look down the side!!!
As far as price, heck I dont know, so far I have $100.00 in all the tubing, that includes 2 fully wasted sticks (at 94" each) due to my "learning"curve!!!!! I will be doing the tail lights very soon, I think I figured out how to do what I want!!!!
See yall !!!! NASH
