Dave, would it be possible to fab the lower mount onto the u-bolt plate? I've got plans to run a triple shock hoop and the shocks will be mounted in the same position as this pic:
I have some custom made D60 plates that I will take pics of and show you what they look like so a bracket could be welded onto the passenger side plate. You could still extend the panhard bars lower fasten point outboard slightly. I just need something that allows the clearance of the shocks on the housing tube.

Wes, that would not be a problem. Even though I'd like to keep the panhard bar as long as possible, I don't think there would any seriously detrimental effect to making it slightly shorter. I'm game
Ok, sounds good. I will get some pics of the plates up for you. Thing is, I don't want to use these plates for the bracket. I want to get another set made. I got them from a former member here, TONYP, but haven't been able to contact him to make more.

I now have access to a cnc mill, so I would build the plates to suit the application. Could probably build them so they would also tie into your shock mounts. Or at least to the axle tube somehow so that the spring plate isn't taking all the lateral loading by itself.

It won't be a problem that is how I have mine. I mounted the bar to the ubolt plate. The only thing I see wrong is when offroading. I have the original crossmember for the engine and I'm worried that when I go off roading ti is going to hit the bar. I will find out next week when I go offorading. I just got to figure out why my trucks steering is all over the road. I'll post pictures when I get it back. I took my truck to a shop because I couldn't figure it out.

There's a few running around in my area that I'm sure I could get some info off of.
My goal is to eventually score a 1st gen frame that I can use for mock up
purposes, like I did for the 2nd gen design.
