I just fabbed up new brackets. Most I've seen use a piece of 2" square tube as a spacer or get the big 4.5" tall competition mounts. Like these:

With a 6" lift you may need to use a combination of both methods.
 
could you just extend down the stock ones??seems like that would be the cheapest option but i see no one do it


my dad's friend did that, he said it came with his lift kit..that was for an 200x f250 diesel..it was jsut the stock ones unbolted, then a large spacer that bolts to the frame and the bumpstop..rather simple.
 
I tried that and bent them badly the first trip out.

I made my own bumpstop mount and used 4.5" progressive bumpstops like mrk5 posted.

Just stack two frames, but use only the bump stops on the lower frame.:D
