I like all the grill choices they offered over the years. I've had a 77, an 84 (quad light), and my current 89 (quad light). I think they all throw light just as well as the other if the wires etc are all in good condition. With that said, I doubt I would care enough to mess with the swap. But, if it's something you want, then do it. It doesn't have to be justified by trail worthyness.. it's your vehicle, make it like you want it. :thumb:

Do what ever you think looks best. IMO, the older, the better. I like your headlights better than the new style headlights. I think I like the old 70's style even better. But I'm kinda odd.

muddy,
if anyone talks crap to you, its cause they're jealous...I know I am

Trust me Im not jealous of him or his truck at all. Two years ago I had every thing ready to go and was preparing to swap all the stuff under. I then realized that while daily driving a K5 on 1tons and 37 Krawlers was going to be fun for a while, it just wasnt practical. I didnt feel like being hassled by the law all the time, didnt feel like driving something like that 3 hours to college, wheeling a daily driver can have its problems etc... So I sold it all and got a truck that made a bit more sense practicallity wise.

Hey if the kid can deal with all the things that come along with daily driving a truck on 42's then more power to him. For me, it doesnt make sense and just isnt practical in any way.

ha ur a sissy if you dont take it to school, maybe you'll be able to hang with jason and bryan

of course im takin it to school! but since i cant have a car first year, thats when im gonna put my doubler together and swap springs :)

If it were mine, I'd probably go backwards and switch from the 81-88 frontend to the old '73-'79 look. The grille and the round lights I just like better.

nope go with the 89-91 clip

Not to hi-jack the post but:

k5gypsy,
Did you replace the doors with ones from a 89-91 or did you jsut replace the side mirrors?

entire front clip, doors, power windows, locks, and mirrors are off a 91 burb... The gap between the door and the fender is due to a bent frame... think the previous owner hought he was on a dukes of hazzard set.... currently the whole thing is apart getting fixed, caged, and stuffing rocks under it..
